Changing Weather: A Songwriting Course exploring seasons and feelings

This course offers singers of all ages an opportunity to write their own song in a matter of weeks, with the option to perform or record their song once complete.

The course is aimed at pupils without prior songwriting experience, or those that wish to try a new approach. The course takes an approach that is both accessible and experimental with a focus on listening skills and creating moods with lyrics and chords that become interconnected. No prior knowledge of music theory or reading music is required. 

The course is presented in six stages with a minimum of 30 minutes guided tuition time per stage. Pupils will record their progress via a music diary/logbook and create their own song sheet with lyrics and chords.

This approach builds on successful workshops at George Stephenson High School (pictured) and at Confetti College, Nottingham.
